Crankshaft Assembly
The crankshaft assembly acts as the core power transmission component inside the power end of triplex mud pumps, widely applied in onshore & offshore drilling, cementing, fracturing and all kinds of well service operations. This integrated unit consists of a precision machined crankshaft, bull gear, matched connecting rods and complete bearing groups. The whole assembly is installed on the pump rack with self-aligning roller bearings to convert rotary motion into linear reciprocating movement for crossheads and pistons under continuous heavy loads.
Product Overview
We fabricate crankshafts with premium alloy steel grades: 35CrMo, 40CrMnMo and modified 4340 alloy as optional raw materials. Each crankshaft adopts monoblock forging forming, followed by integral heat treatment and shot peening surface strengthening processes. These elaborate treatments remove surface impurities and tiny microcracks, delivering outstanding toughness, shock resistance and anti-fatigue performance to cope with long-cycle high-pressure drilling work. Its three-throw crank layout distributes three crank throws evenly at a 120° angle, realizing balanced force bearing and stable consistent power output in every working stroke.
Core Product Advantages
High integral rigidity, extended service lifespan Manufactured via one-piece forging and overall heat treatment, the crankshaft maintains stable mechanical rigidity under high-speed alternating loads. It strongly resists deformation, torsion and fatigue damage during long-term heavy-duty drilling work, cutting replacement frequency and lowering the overall operating cost of drilling equipment.
Strict static balancing treatment for smooth low-vibration running All finished crankshafts go through professional static balancing calibration, effectively lowering mechanical vibration and running noise during pump operation. Optimized balance accuracy eliminates unbalanced inertial force, preventing abnormal wear on crank journals, bearings and matched parts to prolong the service life of the whole power end assembly.
High-precision herringbone gear set for stable impact-free transmission Supporting bull gear and pinion gear are made of alloy steel of equivalent grade to crankshafts, processed into integrated double helical herringbone gears without relief grooves. Compared with ordinary gear combinations, our design features ultra-small gear backlash and full tooth-width uniform meshing. It eliminates gear hammering and impact friction when adjusting rotation speed, enabling continuous smooth and high-efficiency power transfer.
Matched high-precision connecting rods and graded roller bearings The assembly is equipped with high-standard alloy steel connecting rods and classified roller bearings: single-row short cylindrical roller bearings for connecting rod big ends, double-row long cylindrical roller bearings for small ends. Precision machining ensures accurate coaxiality and matched tolerances between crankshaft and crossheads, avoiding eccentric wear and jamming transmission faults.
Strong interchangeability compatible with BOMCO mud pumps All installation dimensions are designed according to universal industry standards. This crankshaft assembly can fully interchange with original parts of mainstream BOMCO mud pump models, enabling direct replacement without rack modification and accelerating on-site maintenance & pump restart progress.
Diversified customization services for special working scenarios We accept customized bull gears with different tooth modules and tooth counts as required by clients. Our factory can conduct paired processing to match customers’ existing pinion shafts and old crankshafts. Custom crankshafts for nearly all types of standard and non-standard mud pumps are available to satisfy unique well testing and workover demands.
