Working Principle
Inside its cylindrical chamber resides a flexible bladder or diaphragm, pre-charged with gas (like nitrogen). When the pump generates a high-pressure spike, it compresses the bladder, momentarily absorbing the excess energy.
As pressure falls, the bladder releases the stored fluid back into the line, ensuring a more even and consistent flow.

Structural Features of Spherical Pulsation Dampener
A Pulsation Damper and Air Bag is an accumulator with a fixed precharge that absorbs system shocks while minimizing pulsations, pipe vibrations, water hammer and pressure fluctuations.
Pulsation dampers are attached directly to the discharge manifold or installed directly downstream of the pump.

Volume sizes range from 10 gallons to 20 gallons and pressure ranges from 3000 psi to 7500 psi.
The body of the spherical pulsation damper is constructed from a one-piece steel forging, eliminating the possibility of weld fatigue failure.
They are interchangeable with Hydril Series "K" dampers, Emsco Series "PD" dampers and Bomco Series "KB" dampers.
One-piece forged valve body (no circumferential welds), making the valve body stronger and the inner surface smoother.
The inner surface is machined to facilitate diaphragm movement.
Field-replaceable top and bottom panels.
Base plate connection to meet customer application requirements.
Diaphragms are available in a variety of materials to suit application requirements.
