Product Description
The pinion shaft is directly driven by the prime mover (engine or motor), and its smaller pinion gear meshes with the much larger bull gear mounted on the crankshaft. This gear reduction step significantly increases the torque delivered to the crankshaft, enabling it to drive the pistons and overcome the immense pressure developed in the fluid end. Both components are manufactured to the highest standards to withstand the harsh working conditions of oilfield drilling.
Pinion Shaft Details
The pinion shaft is a critical component of the mud pump, crafted from forged 42CrMo alloy steel for exceptional strength and durability. It is precision-machined with a high-precision double helical (herringbone) gear featuring a medium-hard tooth surface, ensuring optimal performance and longevity.
For ease of maintenance, single-row radial roller bearings with double-ribbed outer rings are adopted. The pinion shaft is extended at both ends, allowing a pulley or sprocket to be installed on either end, enhancing flexibility in installation and use.
