Mud Pump Crosshead Guide Plates
Crosshead guide plates are key wear and guiding components in the power end of a reciprocating mud pump. Installed in relation to the crosshead running surfaces, the upper and lower guide plates work with the crosshead to control its reciprocating movement and maintain the alignment required by the power end mechanism.
Upper and lower guide plates are manufactured according to the design and dimensional requirements of the specific mud pump. Their geometry, mounting features and running surfaces may vary between pump models, so correct identification and dimensional matching are important when selecting replacement components.

In the mud pump power end, the crosshead moves back and forth between the upper and lower guide surfaces. The guide plates provide controlled running surfaces for this reciprocating movement and help maintain the position and alignment of the crosshead within the power end.

Where drawings are provided, FH Petroleum can manufacture replacement or custom guide plates according to the specified dimensions and configuration.
Crosshead guide plates are manufactured with particular attention to the geometry and condition of the running surfaces that interface with the crosshead. Dimensional consistency, machining accuracy and surface condition are important considerations when producing replacement components for an existing mud pump power end.
